This weekend we have had a family trip to a fun and festive Christmas Market and on the way back home I couldn’t resist a mini nail haul at the train station. I don’t typically buy drug store nail products but I fell for this gorgeous Beige Babe from the Rimmel Salon Pro range and wanted to give it a run for its money. At just over £4 it was a fantastic price.
I also couldn’t resist buying a bit of sparkle! With 3 for 2 on Maybelline at Boots I went crazy and bought all three shades and amazingly also got a free lip gloss thrown in. I think I should shop up north more often!

I am quite tired and have an awful cold so have had to speed through my usual #SundayNails ritual. But doing so in front of my Christmas Tree and newly purchased decorations (from the Christmas market) certainly helped! I bought a gorgeous poinsettia (not sure how long I will keep it that way, I don’t have a good track record with house plants) and a wooden tree decoration with a jingle bell. I really want to put this on my front door but I fear it may go walkies so for now is hanging on the fire place.

After a good file with Diamancel File N.2 and a base coat of Nails Inc A&E I set to applying Rimmel Salon Pro Beige Babe. I was very impressed with the brush – a really fantastic almost nail bed size brush, the formula, however doesn’t quite give the brush justice sadly as it doesn’t have the flow to do a cuticle to tip sweep, it loses it’s pull about half way and is a bit more sheer than I was expecting. However that said it did only take 2 coats to achieve a really good finish. I’m quite impressed – especially with price in mind it’s certainly amazing value! I almost didn’t want to put the sparkle accent on as it was such a beautiful finish.
I have been wearing a sparkle sequin sweater all day in celebration of the first day of Advent and the start of the festive season so I just loved this gilded rose brocade from Maybelline too much, not to add a touch of sparkle, it has a gold base with gorgeous flecks of rose gold glitter. Which matched my sequin sweater really well. I like the idea of having a full set of brocade nails so watch this space for that!
I topped it off with my favourite Seche Vite. What do you think?
